Fellaini gets three-match ban

There will be no appeal against the red card shown by referee Phil Dowd to Marouane Fellaini for ‘serious foul play’. Fellaini was brought down from behind in the 86th minute by Bolton’s Paul Robinson in what looked a clear foul but retaliated by kicking out as the players tangled on the ground and the referee, who was well positioned, had no hesitation in awarding a straight red card. After the game David Moyes conceded that “It was the right decision, Marouane retaliated and it was stupid.”

Fellaini will now miss three matches: Arsenal – home (Sunday 14 November); Sunderland – away (Monday 22 November); West Brom – home (Saturday 27 November).

The latest chit-chat has it that these two out-of-favour Toffees are on their way to West Ham, with David Moyes poised to use the proceeds in pursuit of a top quality striker to solve the goal drought that has seen the Blues so far score just once in three Premier League outings.

Was Arteta a Man Utd Target?

There’s been a lot of speculation in the last few hours about the fact that young German star Mesut Ozil’s player profile turned up on Man Utd’s site, most people are saying that like obituaries, they do them for any player that might sign – but there were some other interesting players listed in the Man Utd squad – including Mikel Arteta!

Was Fergie having a sniff around Mikel Arteta?

The young German is listed as a Man Utd player on their website

Changing the last two digits of the link from 71 upwards will reveal the “fantasy” players – but moving back down reveals normal Man Utd squad players. Did we just get a peek at The Lord of the Ferg’s potential summer shopping list?

Sky sports are reporting that Dan Gosling has finally moved to Newcastle for free. I’m finished with the anger, not hugely disappointed in losing him as a player anymore, but still apoplectic with rage about the money he took off us. If he recovers in time, he’ll be able to come to Goodison for a nice welcome, after that I fully expect him to sink without a trace.

If you have a gentleman’s agreement and then back out of it you are neither a gentleman nor worth having an agreement with in the first place. Good riddance.

The Antichrist?

Michael Kenrick – I had a PE teacher like him once. Rampantly negative, and very pissed off with the world, he refused to let a poor waif of a lad miss PE because he had a broken arm, saying that it was no excuse. For Kenrick and his Toffeeweb chums, it seems that Moyes is the Antichrist – and that our injuries are no excuse for this season’s performance.

Over to you, Michael:

“This season was supposedly getting better but the loss of Fellaini is likely to be a real blow. No doubt under adversity, Moyes will glue the remnants back together and we will strive manfully for a creditable eight or another “Magnificent Seventh” (vomit).

No, I have some fine memories from the pre-Moyes era. He is not a manager that makes me proud because I don’t feel proud watching the type of football he has us play, and I don’t think I ever will. You can point to the odd game… but the overall feeling is one of total negativity from this manager.

So no, I have Zero Respect for Moyes. I want the Everton manager to be POSITIVE! With the players he has had, we could and should have been so much better… (Yes. I know he chose them: the one thing he seems to be good at…) We’re not, and that pains me every time I watch us play. And It has done for what seems to be an awful long time now. So sorry… No respect from me.”

Marouane Fellaini: Off to the Arse?

Today’s main transfer rumour is regarding feral fuzzball Marouane Fellaini. Apparently Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is having a hearty sniff around the Belgian, and he likes what he smells. The Guardian is leading the charge with the Fellaini tripe here , and we’re hoping that’s exactly what it is. His contract isn’t running out, he seems happy, Arsenal are known to hate splurging big money (and that’s exactly what they’d have to do to bag Fellaini)…

However, the Belgian’s dad seems to like hawking his son around (not in Fabregas Sr’s league yet but give him time), Arsene has a bit of a fetish for lanky midfielders, and given the last minute nature of Fellaini’s signing by Moyes (last minutes of the transfer deadline) – could it be possible that he managed to sneak in a get-out clause, allowing Arsenal to prise him away for a certain price???

We’re pretty sure that the above sentence is complete tripe, so not to worry – and our London contact says that this could be hogwash because Arsenal’s midfield is pretty packed as it is – Song, Cesc, Diaby, Denilson, Eastmond, Merida, Lansbury…
