Not all the luck has deserted the Toffees. A depressing few days culminated in the draw for the FA Cup 3rd round giving us a home game against League One Carlisle United, to take place over the weekend of 2/3rd of January. Everton have faced the Cumbrians twice before in the FA Cup, in 1967/68 and 1929/30, running out as winners on both occasions. Our last meeting in a cup competition was in the League Cup in 1976/77 when Everton won 2-0.
