Everton have agreed a fee with Tottenham Hotspur for Steven Pienaar. Evertonians had been growing frustrated and concerned at the apparent lack of movement on this transaction; with rumours circulating that Spurs chairman Daniel Levy had been taking a tough stance with regards to the fee. However with the player pushing hard for the move, and having been excluded from the current Spurs pre-season tour of the USA by Andre Villas-Boas, it always seemed likely that the Everton hierarchy would eventually be able to agree terms for the 30 year-old.
Pienaar will undergo a medical on Monday with a view to completing negotiations regarding his personal terms and formally signing on Tuesday.

Until he dons the new kit with a pen in his hand, contract in the other, I’ll hold any joy until then. Though this news draws ligitmate questions about Everton dire state regarding money, with Cahill and Yobo going for relatively small fees and no sign of cash investors are Everton going forwards or backwards?
Look we all know we have little or no money, for the forseeable future rightly or wrongly we have to deal with that – i’m not saying don’t ask questions but the Cahill transfer in particular is largely irrelevant to this argument, legend though he is the last 10 months or so have seen him relegated to a bit part player a role that isn’t befitting of a player of his service or stature so we let him move on to be a focal point of a new team much like he used to be at Everton on top of which he is the first designated player NY Red Bulls have actually paid a transfer fee for under their current General Manager
